SLIDESHOW: Appalachian Volleyball U14 White completes season with 1-2 finish at Surry

“Who made the ball smaller?”

By David Rogers. March 7, 2020. DOBSON, NC — When the won a volleyball set, it seemed as if by a landslide. When they lost, the sets were nailbiters, including an overtime, 26-24 third set loss in their third and final match. For Appalachian Volleyball Club’s U14 White team members, though, it was a most excellent day of fun and skill learning at their final travel team tournament of the 2019-20 season at Surry Community College.

“These girls are such a blast to be around,” head coach Emma Longley (yes, the Emma Longley that starred for Appalachian State University’s Mountaineer volleyball team). “They work hard. They ask questions. And they accept coaching very easily. In finishing 1-2 on the day, it was a tough day, but we are taking a lot from it.”
