By David Rogers. December 14, 2019. BLOWING ROCK, NC — A chilly, rainy morning did nothing to cool the oohs and ahhs of some four dozen Blowing Rock business and town government folks on Friday. They joined together at 452 Sunset Dr., Suite H (the Glenwood Office Condominiums) to celebrate the grand opening of 4 Forty Four’s newly renovated office space now housing Sketchline Architecture and the construction company’s Design Studio.

For those familiar with the space when it served as the office for The Blowing Rocket and, more recently, for Blowing Rock News, the new environs were hardly recognizable. Walls knocked out, new walls built, the end result is a showcase for 4 Forty Four and Sketchline Architecture’s professional capabilities.
Lillie Troyer and husband Kevin Troyer are the principals of 4 Forty Four Construction. Lillie explained to Blowing Rock News that the project was a collaboration of the company’s commercial construction team, architect David Harwood (Sketchline), and Emily Anderson of the Design Studio.
“Our commercial team did the actual construction work,” Lillie Troyer noted, “but David (Harwood) worked through the layout of each room for its architectural ‘flow’, and Emily (Anderson) used her interior design skills to bring it all together, visually and creatively. The result is really an amazing collaboration and a great example of what we do here at 4 Forty Four.”
The ribbon-cutting was organized with the help of the Blowing Rock Chamber of Commerce. Several board members were on hand, including Executive Director Charles Hardin and the 2019 board chairman, Billy Chick (Edward Jones & Co., Blowing Rock)
