PUBLIC NOTICE from Blowing Rock’s Town Manager, Shane Fox. March 16, 2020. BLOWING ROCK, NC — The Town of Blowing Rock and the rest of the Country are in unchartered territory. We are all working together to slow the spread of this virus and protect the more vulnerable among us.
Due to the health concerns associated with the Coronavirus (COVID-19) and efforts to limit the possible transmission, the Town of Blowing Rock has made the decision to prohibit public access to all Town-owned public buildings until at least Monday March 23, 2020. This date may be extended. This decision has been made and authorized under the State of Emergency issued March 14, 2020.
Public building closures include Town Hall, all Park and Recreation public buildings, and the Public Works facility.
Memorial Park bathrooms along with the outdoor bathrooms at Blowing Rock Art and History Museum (BRAHM) will remained closed during this time. The Town’s outdoor open facilities will remain open, including all town-owned parks and greenspaces.
The Town of Blowing Rock will continue to provide all protection services, including Fire and Police, as normal.
Sanitation pickup will be on a limited schedule. Residential trash pickup will remain the same on Monday and Tuesday pickup. Commercial trash pickup will be on Wednesday only. Brush pickup will be suspended until further notice.
