HICKORY, NC — Celebrated Blowing Rock-based artist Norma Suddreth’s watercolors, handmade paper, and frescoes inspired by her travels to the Holy Land and Middle East will be on display at the Hickory Museum of Art, July 30th through October 9th, in the Regal & Gifford Galleries.
Admission is free.
Opening Reception: August 12, 6:00 pm to 7:30 pm
An opening reception is slated for Friday, August 12th, 6:00 pm to 7:30 pm, providing visitors with an opportunity to meet Mrs. Suddreth, sample Middle Eastern foods, and learn about the artist’s unique work and artistic processes. She will speak at approximately 6:30 pm.
“I am really excited about this exhibit,” Suddreth told Blowing Rock News in a phone interview this week, “and an opportunity to share my experiences in the Holy Land through my art. Hickory Museum of Art has been wonderful to work with in preparing this exhibit and I hope a good number of folks from Blowing Rock will venture down to enjoy this exhibit and I encourage them to come to the reception on August 12th.”
