By David Rogers. January 12, 2018. MORGANTON, NC — Maddisen Robinson and Madie Darner combined for 25 points in the second half alone, breaking open a tight high school women’s basketball game to power Watauga past Freedom Friday night, 52-44.

It was deja vu all over again for the Lady Pioneers, all in the same week. Robinson also had a big final period, with six points, and 15 points for the full 32 minutes of play.  The senior point guard took dead aim from the charity stripe, hitting a perfect 8-of-8 during the game. including 6-of-6 in the decisive final stanza.

The sophomore duo of Brooke Byrd and Rebekah Farthing added 10 points and six, respectively.

The Pioneer women stay on the road next Tuesday when they travel to Lenoir to face West Caldwell. The Warriors are 4-11 overall, 0-6 in Northwestern Conference play.
