The British Are Coming! The British Are Coming! (To Coach Soccer)

Special Report to Blowing Rock News from Watauga Parks & Recreation. July 3, 2015. BOONE, NC — At least three talented British soccer coaches will be at Watauga High School next week for a variety of soccer camp sessions for children ages 3-15. According to Parks & Recreation Director Stephen Poulos, “These British coaches know how to make soccer fun for the kids while teaching fundamentals and technical soccer skills.”

The coaches are part of British company, Challenger Sports, including:

  • Josh Chaproniere, 22, England
  • Kirsty James, 22, Wales
  • Kobi Hope, 19, England

The camp will run from Monday, July 6, through Friday, July 10th. A free session will be conducted on Sunday, July 5th, at Watauga High School. Children interested in playing soccer should arrive at 5:00 pm for the session to start at 5:15 pm. Players are requested to bring a soccer ball and lots of water, as well as bringing a friend who might also be interested in soccer.  Registration for the weeklong camp will be accepted on site.
