June 29, 2016. WILLIAMSBURG, VA — Clarence Johnson Allison Jr. of Williamsburg, passed away on Saturday June 25, 2016. Clarence was born in Iredell County, North Carolina on July 5, 1922. He was a devoted family man who passed peacefully in his home surrounded by his loving family.
Clarence was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, and sisters in North Carolina; and his son, Scott Eric Allison. He is survived by his wife of 68 years, Frances; daughter, Laura Jill Diggs; grandchildren, David T. Diggs (Meegen), Ashley D. Clark (Christian), and Hunter V. Diggs; and a number of nieces and nephews in North Carolina and Hampton VA.
Clarence was a veteran of WWII, serving on the USS Essex and then worked at NASA until retirement. He was a member of WPC, Hidenwood, Rumple Memorial in Blowing Rock, NC.
A private celebration of Clarence’s life will be held with immediate family at his home.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Williamsburg Presbyterian Church, 215 Richmond Rd, Williamsburg, VA 23185.
Cremation Society of Virginia is assisting the family.
