Each talk is an informational event where audience members learn about various aspects of health and wellness. Each Health Talk features an accomplished healthcare provider with a presentation on a specific topic, as well as an informal question and answer period.
Each Health Talk event is FREE, Appalachian Regional Healthcare System’s Gillian Baker noted to Blowing Rock News on Monday. “If someone has a specific area of concern or simply wants to learn more about staying healthy, a Health Talk is the perfect opportunity to gain knowledge and have questions answered.”
For the fall, the ARHS lineup of Health Talks includes:
- September 21, 2016 — “Watch Your Back: Caring For Your Spine,” with Dr. James Califf, 6:30 pm, Paul H. Broyhill Wellness Center Classroom, 232 Boone Heights Drive, Boone, NC 28607
- October 5, 2016 — “Elements of Well Woman Care,” with Lois Iiams, FNP, 6:30 pm, Watauga Medical Center Auditorium, 336 Deerfield Rd., Boone, NC 28607
- November 12, 2016 — “Living With Diabetes,” with Dr. Richard Smith, 10:00 am, The Rehabilitation Center Lobby, 232 Boone Heights Drive, Boone, NC 28607
