It was “8th Grade Night” for Cove Creek girls and boys teams, their last regular season game of the 2016-17 season, with each team celebrating their 8th graders.

With a little more than two minutes remaining in the game, the Rockets closed to within three points at 14-11, but the Raiders turned things up a notch with tenacious defense and the best stretch of shooting by either team for the entire evening.  They went on a 10-1 run in the final minutes to finish off the Rockets in the last game of regular season play.

Blowing Rock’s Maddy Watson recorded a team-high 5 points, while Kylee Calvo (3), Farrah Cole (2) and Janie Soucek (2) rounded out the visitors’ scoring.
