BLOWING ROCK -- What became U.S. 321 has wound its way up the mountain from Lenoir and through Blowing Rock for many generations of High Country residents and visitors. Most of the modifications to the path of the highway were relatively minor -- until the recently launched widening project that is currently displacing a multitude of buildings, boulders, plants and shrubbery, and just plain dirt.  Where does all the material go?

BLOWING ROCK, NC -- Blowing Rock residents, business owners and visitors will experience a winter wonderland to match the bright new white lights on Main Street over the next couple of days.  According to the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), we should see snow accumulations ranging from 3 to 7 inches.

Pavement Rehab Along I-77 in Surry County to Start April 22

Department of Transportation will begin a pavement rehabilitation project along Interstate 77 near Mount Airy in Surry County. One lane of I-77 from mile marker 95 to 99 will be closed at a time while the project is completed.
