BLOWING ROCK, NC -- There were only three items on the Blowing Rock Planning Board's agenda Thursday night at Town Hall, but that didn't stop it from becoming a marathon meeting. The board considered what one observer speculated would be a $30 million hotel/mixed use development on Main St. -- then tackled the sign and outdoor display ordinances, to a point.

BLOWING ROCK, NC -- Tax increases are never popular, but Blowing Rock Town Commisisoners were unanimous in raising the ad valorem property tax to 31 cents per $100 valuation along with approving the rest of the adjusted, recommended FY2015 budget Tuesday night at the June meeting of the Blowing Rock Town Council.

PUBLIC NOTICE: Special BRAAC Meeting re: 321 Project

PUBLIC NOTICE. June 10, 2014. BLOWING ROCK, NC -- The Town of Blowing Rock Board of Commissioners will hold a special meeting in conjunction with the Blowing Rock Appearance Advisory Commission (BRAAC) on Thursday, June 12, 2014.  Members who are able to attend will leave Town Hall located at 1036 Main Street, Blowing Rock at 1:50 p.m. to visit selected wall construction sites along the Hwy 321 corridor and discuss construction progress with representatives of North Carolina Department of Transportation (NCDOT).

BLOWING ROCK, NC -- Amid the sleet and rain on Tuesday afternoon, one McRary family member smiled before the special ceremony to dedicate the renaming of the Blowing Rock water treatment suggested, "Tom let the tank spill over." In presiding over the dedication, Mayor J.B. Lawrence looked up at the heavens and quipped, "Tommy, the joke's on you. We are here to honor your memory!"

PUBLIC NOTICE: Water Service in Blowing Rock Disrupted April 15th, Scheduled Maintenance

PUBLIC NOTICE: March 31, 2014. BLOWING ROCK, NC -- All Town of Blowing Rock water customers should expect to be without water service beginning at 10:00 p.m. on Tuesday April 15th. The work is expected to take no more than 8 hours to complete, so service is expected to be restored by 6:00 a.m. on Wednesday April 16th.
